Square Dancing and Round Dancing, with local bands providing the music, was popular in The Bay on Saturday nights in the 1950s until the old Casino Dance Hall was torn down to make way for what is now the Constance and Buckham's Bay Community Centre. Wendy Sauve had a passion for dancing and after convincing her husband Greg to try it out at a club in Kanata, decided it was time to try and make a go of it in The Bay.

In 2001 Wendy hired a caller and offered a trial of four lessons at the Community Centre. On one particular night 54 dancers came out and it was decided to start a club that September. There is a well known expression that says "friendship set to music", "that's what Square Dancing is to us" says Sauve.

Our dance season runs from September - April however, new dancers are always welcome! You will find us dancing on Friday nights in the upstairs hall starting at 7:30 - 9:30 with light refreshments from 9:30 - 10:30 PM. New dancers and singles are welcome. All you need is your dancing shoes (any indoor shoes will do)!
